Many thanks from Dans whole family.

Day 3,4,5,6
These days for Dan were all chemo days, he had quite a few sides effects from this but is doing a bit better now.

Hi everyone l would like you to meet my brother Dan. Dan is 54 years old and is currently fighting a very Rare Blood Cancer called Myeloproliferative Neoplasm Polycytremia. He has a long road ahead of him and has just begun the beginnings of his treatments. He has a few rounds of radiation, then 4 days of back to back chemo then radiation again, then the stem cell transplant. Dan will be in the hospital for 4-6 weeks then after that he will be moved to another place for a few months so that he is close to the hospital in case there are any complications.
My brother is a very devoted father to his 2 kids and spends every moment he can with them (which is usually at a rink). Dan has also been involved in hockey for more than 30 years for himself and then for his 2 kids Shawn and Samantha. His other love is fishing, he has loved it all his life and grew up around many of the fisherman on the Pro Bass tournaments circuits, you can still find him on the lake when he can trying to catch the next big one.
In November 2022 Dan had an ulcer which they believe may have been caused by the gastric bypass surgery he had years prior where he lost 310lbs. Dan was rushed to Toronto where they did and emergency surgery to repair the perforated intestine. The Dr. being very observant saw that Dans spleen was extremely large and many tests later is when they found out that it was the rare blood cancer. He has been on chemo pills since then and following a bone marrow biopsy he started experiencing pain all over his body, he ended up with an infection in his left foot which ended up Sepsis, then his right foot broke, all of this he luckily healed from in little over a month. Up until June 2023 my brother has worked as a truck driver but the daily pain and weekly doctor appointments and trips to emerg. grew to be too much for him to be the employee that he was before all of this started and unfortunately had to leave his job.
If you know my brother he is very reluctant to ask for help for himself (which is why I am doing it), he is someone who is always there to help anyone he can no matter what was needed. All donations will go directly to my brother to help in anyway they can for the long road he has ahead of him.
Dans whole family is incredibly grateful for all the love and support we have received so far and words cannot express our gratitude for your generosity. Please keep Dan in your thoughts and prayers and thank you again.
