Hi Everyone,
My name is Kelly. Tiffany is my older sister at 25 years of age. We are a year and a half apart. I am 23 while we also have a younger brother ,Jeremy, who is 22 years of age. At a very young age my siblings and I entered foster care. Our biological parents struggled with drugs, alcohol, and many other issues forcing them to lose custody. We lived in several different foster homes until being placed with a family who adopted us at the age of 7. We lived with this family until the age of 15. We again entered foster care in our teen years and lived in different homes. My brother lived in a group home for a year only being able to receive visits once weekly while my sister and I finally found a stable home with a friends mother.Eventually our brother moved in with a friends family and was treated with the love and respect he deserved. Angela, our friend's mother took us in as her own and pushed us in the right direction in life which we most needed. After a month living with Angela, my sister became pregnant at the age of 17. Instead of regretting her decision to let us become part of her family, she embraced us even more and became the greatest grandmother to my nephew Layton. My sister enrolled in the area technical college and graduated with her associate degree in nursing and is very close to obtaining her bachelor degree. She is the best mother my nephew could ever wish for.She makes everyone around her so proud. To know the obstacles she has faced and to push onward is nothing short of the type of person she is. She makes no excuses, asks for no handouts, and accepts the problem in front of her and looks for resolution. Today my best friend, the mother to my now 7 year old nephew Layton, was diagnosed with Leukemia. At 25 years old, if she hasn't already fought enough, she is going to fight a fight she was never prepared for. She is too proud to ask for help. That's part of the reason I admire her so much. But I am not. I will ask for help. As of this time she is not covered with any insurance. We will be looking for health insurance if she can qualify. This is the beginning stages of cancer. We are just starting to see and realize how this will affect her short and long term health.Anything you can donate to help my sister, my nephew, our family would be greatly appreciated. God works miracles and if anyone has the strength to fight this, Tiffany does. Please keep her in your prayers and will we keep everyone updated on this temporary setback. Thankyou and God Bless,
Kelly
