Over the last 4 months, our sweet Flor has been fighting a fight that no one should ever have to endure, but unfortunately, many do.
Last December, Flor was diagnosed with Stage 2 1/2 - 3 Breast Cancer. She began chemotherapy in January and will continue treatment for six months. Her tumor has shown some response to the chemo, however, her entire treatment plan also includes surgery and radiation and will likely last a year.
During a time when Flor should be putting all her efforts into beating this dreadful disease, it has not only take a toll on her physically and emotionally, but also financially.
As much as Flor does not want to ask for help, the Board approached her and asked if we could help raise money on her behalf. Many residents have noticed her suffering in silence and asked for ways to help. Thankfully, Flor agreed.
Fighting cancer is a team sport. No one can or should do it alone. It takes a team. And here at The Regency House, we are 116 strong.
Please join Flor's fight and give in any way you can. Whether it be financially or simply a smile and a hug, it all makes a world of difference.
Below is a note from Flor.

Dear Regency House Family ,
It has been twelve years since I began working in the Regency House. It is a privilege to work with a community who treat me as part of a family. With that said, I would love to add that I am grateful for the friendship, support, and kindness the residents and staff of Regency House have offered me throughout the years .
It is because that I am treated as part of a family here that I wish to share some infmmation with you all. As some of you may know, I was diagnosed with breast cancer on December 2015 and have been battling it since. I began treatment in January and I feel its side effects more and more every day. It has been a heavily emotional experience for me and my family. On top of this, I have been facing greater financial struggles due to now being separated, costs of treatment and paying my son's university tuition.
I want to thank everyone who took the time to read this. Thank you for your understanding and support.
Sincerely,
Flor
