If you've ever been in the same room as Melissa Avery, you surely haven't forgotten her. If you’ve known her for a while, you know how much life, laughter, affection, and enthusiasm she brings into the world. And if you haven’t had the joy of meeting her yet: Melissa is a passionate lover of music, dance, humor, dogs, Jesus, and life itself. She teaches dance to both children and adults in the Pittsburgh area and dreams of one day becoming an international instructor.

In August, Melissa was diagnosed with Stage 2 breast cancer. This is a life-altering diagnosis, especially before the age of 40.

As anyone who's faced cancer knows, the journey is filled with incredibly difficult decisions: choosing treatment plans, adjusting to a new routine of doctors and recovery, coping with emotional and spiritual battles, and figuring out how to manage financially while missing work.

One treatment path could impact her fertility. It would require very expensive out-of-pocket medical bills if she chooses the route that preserves her ability to choose her fertility future.
