My father is Mike Ybarra. He is a devoted Husband, Dad, Grandfather and Friend to many. My dad worked his whole life worked hard to provide for his family. He is the kind of guy who can never say "NO". From coaching track to spending time with his family he was always up the challenge.
In September he was faced with one of the biggest challenges in life. Dad was diagnosed with multiple myeloma (a cancer formed by malignant plasma cells that are found in the bone marrow).
All the funds raised will go towards his current chemotherapy treatment and upcoming bone marrow transplant. Dad is scheduled to have this transplant mid-April. His first 2 weeks are the most crucial. Dad will not be able to have any contact with the public. After the 2 weeks and a successful transplant he will have to be within 30 minutes of the hospital. Doctor’s recommendation is that my mom be by his side the entire time. All income on moms part will be completely and a stand still. Housing for 2 months in San Francisco comes at a cost.
Being raised to never give up and always fight has been our outlook in life. Bruce Lee (his biggest inspiration) once said, "If you love life, don't waste time, for time is what life is made up of". There is so much more life to live. The support already given to us has been so wonderful! Words alone cannot express the gratitude we share with all of you.
If there was another word or way to say THANK YOU we would climb the highest mountain and shout from the top of our lungs to show how truly thankful and blessed we are to have your support.
