Fight 4 Julian
On July 11, 2021, my 24 year old cousin's life completely turned upside down, when he was emergently diagnosed with a brain tumor. Julian was taken to Forbes Hospital in Monroeville the morning of July 11, for new onset of neurological issues. At Forbes, they found a brain tumor on a CT scan. He then had to be emergently life flighted to Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh and taken directly into surgery to decrease the pressure on his brain. That was only his first of EIGHT brain surgeries that he has had since July 11. He was officially diagnosed with a Diffuse Midline Glioma with a very rare gene mutation. He spent 3.5 weeks in the neuro ICU and was fortunately able to be discharged home this past Friday. We are so thankful that he is back home with us, but he still has a very long road ahead of him, involving regaining his strength and treatments for the brain tumor.
Anyone who has met Julian knows that he is one of the most sweet and caring souls you will ever get to meet. He has always been that person that you could call at any time, day or night, and he would help in any way that he could. It is now our turn to make sure we are there for him, as he has always been there for us. Julian is a warrior and already so motivated to get his strength back. My family and I are trying to collect donations to help pay for Julian's medical expenses and upcoming treatment expenses while he is unable to work. Any money raised that is left over will be directly donated to a charity for cancer of Julian's choice. If you cannot afford a monetary donation, we please ask that you keep Julian and his family in your prayers during this difficult time. Thank you so much in advance!
