Fight With Tracy: A Life-Saving Bone Marrow Transplant
Donation protected
Dear friends, family, and kind-hearted strangers,
I’m reaching out with a heavy heart to share the story of my incredible mom, Tracy, who is currently fighting a courageous battle against CMML, a rare blood cancer. Since her diagnosis on August 4, 2023, our family has faced an unimaginable journey, and now we are asking for your help.
Tracy’s Story: My mom is the most selfless person I know. She’s faced unthinkable challenges throughout her life and always comes out stronger, putting her loved ones first. A single mom for nearly five years, she worked two jobs to support her home with her boyfriend Dan and their two fur babies, Oliver and Kenosha, while also supporting my brother, Trevor, and me. She’s always been the first to give, and now we need to rally around her.
After months of exhausting treatments, including three types of oral chemotherapy and 77 painful injections, Tracy has agreed to undergo a life-saving bone marrow transplant. She’ll be admitted to the Colorado Blood Cancer Institute on December 14, 2024, to begin a week of intense chemotherapy. On December 20, Trevor and I will “press the button” to transplant the life-saving bone marrow from a 29-year-old donor—a perfect stranger who gave us the Christmas gift of hope.
The Road Ahead: The recovery process will be long and difficult, and my mom will be unable to work for an extended period. Starting this Thanksgiving, she will be on medical leave, and the financial strain of medical bills, hospital stays, and time off work is becoming overwhelming.
How You Can Help: We’ve set up this GoFundMe campaign to support my mom during this challenging time. Your donations will help cover her hospital stay, medical expenses, and the loss of income while she is out of work. Every contribution, no matter how small, will make a meaningful impact. Donations can also be made to Tracy's Zelle (7205455903).
If you are unable to donate, please consider sharing this campaign with others—spreading the word is just as important. We also deeply appreciate your thoughts, prayers, and positive energy as we navigate this difficult journey.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts: We are beyond grateful for all the love and support we’ve already received. My mom has always been there for others, and with your help, she can continue to fight this battle. We’ll keep you updated on her progress every step of the way.
Thank you for being part of this journey with us.
With love and gratitude,
Alyssa Reed
