Fight with the Loranger Family

Recently our beautiful sister Christina was diagnosed with lung cancer. Chrissy is only 53 years young, a loving wife to John, Local 17 Insulators Union, and the most adoring, loving mother to her 4 children John, Kevin, Meagan, and Joey.

Chrissy underwent 3 rounds of chemotherapy with immunotherapy. After completion of the 3 rounds, a follow-up Pet Scan indicated her tumor had shrunk, and her thoracic surgeon felt it could safely be surgically removed without the anticipation of any complications. She underwent surgery on January 19, 2023. Sadly, and to our dismay, the tumor was found to be inoperable as it was too dangerous to be removed without the possibility of serious complications. After the unsuccessful surgery, her treating oncologist planned to prescribe traditional radiation therapy with continued chemotherapy. During her recovery from surgery, she sought out a second opinion from The Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. The Mayo Clinic immediately took her on as a patient where she has most recently begun proton therapy treatment (a more precise and better-targeted radiation therapy) with continued chemotherapy. She will be receiving treatment in Rochester, Minnesota for the next 4 weeks. Her family has been completely devastated in every way possible. What makes her story even more compelling is the fact she fought brain cancer a little over 25 years ago and underwent surgery/cancer treatment for her brain tumor while having young toddlers to care for. She won that battle! More recently (2019) her husband was diagnosed with esophageal cancer and underwent major surgery as well as chemo and radiation treatment. He has only recently returned to work when her family was hit with the unimaginable diagnosis of her “new” cancer. This amazing family has been battling this horrifying disease which seems to be forever long.

Our sister and her amazing family need support from family, friends, and community members. She has an uphill battle to fight and will need an army behind her.
