Fight with the Ard Family

I am starting this to help David, Desiree and their family. The last thing they should stress about right now, is money. Their time left is sacred and right now Desiree is having to work nights just to TRY to make ends meet but they’re still falling short. Below is David’s story:

David is your typical guy loves football, basketball, baseball, fishing, camping and being with his kids and wife. He has always supported our family. We have 4 boys and 1 little girl. April 1, 2022 is when the nightmare began. David was hospitalized after many tests he was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer with Mets to the liver. That day he also learned he will not be able to return to work. David met with his oncologist, and found out that we have 1-2 years left with him, 3 if we are lucky, 5 if there is a miracle. So David began the journey of the chemo world. David started off with doing the chemo pills, he did those for 2 months before his cancer numbers started to rise. Along with the tumors and then found blood clots in his liver due to the lack of blood flow in the liver due to the size of the tumor. Then David went in for the port, 2 days later we began the liquid chemo gem/Abrax. David has been doing this chemo for a couple months now. With the latest scans, we found out that the tumor on the pancreas grew and then one on the liver stayed the same. Then David ran into an issue with his platelets not rising so which means he couldn’t get the chemo he needed which was 3 weeks on 1 week off and needed a booster shot to help with his platelets, David was denied by insurance, lucky for him his team is amazing and didn’t give up. After a month only one round of chemo we finally got the palate booster shot. Davids cancer numbers started to rise recently and he was faced with 3 options, stay on the chemo we are now, switch to our last hope of a different chemo and be done. David is freaking fighter he said he needed a couple weeks to decide. Those couple weeks is exactly what we needed as his numbers were hitting the thousands in the last two weeks they have dropped tremendously. Making the decision easier for David, that he stays on the chemo we are now. If he was to switch to the new chemo and once that one stopped he would be out of all options of treatments. We have reached out to several doctors all with the same answers we have been given. There is no clinical trials that he is a match for, which we are ok with cause honestly no one really wants to be a lab rat! Well if you know us at all you know we don’t have to good Karma juju lol. Life has been hell. We are financially struggling between rent, medical bills that didn’t get covered when he first got diagnosed and just every day living expenses. I am now working nights to help bring in some cash flow. David gets ssdi but definitely not enough to survive for a month.
