Fight with Tadd

This GoFundMe account is to raise money for our friend, brother, and teammate Tadd Downs, and his family. Tadd has had a long career serving his country in law enforcement and is a loving husband and father. Tadd was recently diagnosed with a very aggressive form of cancer and he and his family will be facing major medical expenses as he fights for his life. Here is an excerpt from Tadd's email of 12/5/18:

I had hoped that the only time in my career to send an email out like this was for retirement, which WAS scheduled for next spring, but circumstances dictate differently.
For those that I have not had a chance to talk with, last week I was diagnosed with colon cancer. Unfortunately, it has spread to my liver and lungs. Monday was a surgery to biopsy my liver and put a port into my chest, today was my first round of chemo. I am in good spirts and want everyone to know that those prayers you all are sending are working. Please continue.
I apologize if I forgot anyone on the email routing of this message. Please feel free to pass this along to those I may have inadvertently missed (especially those who are retired). I also apologize if I did not answer your call or text over the last week. As you can imagine, the events of the last 8 days have been very overwhelming, confusing, and heartbreaking.
I would also like to thank everyone for those calls, messages, and texts. Both my family and I truly appreciate the well wishes and prayers. Furthermore, words can’t express my gratitude toward my coworkers, friends, and family for your support during our time of turmoil. I had hoped to be able to speak with you all about what is going on, and break the news myself, but that has proven to be an impossible task.
I am hopeful that this will be a long fight, and fight I will, so your continued thoughts and prayers will be needed.

Tadd's first round of chemo this week went well and he is in good spirits. Tadd always has a way of getting you to smile and feel like you're his best friend. But he now has a major fight in front of him. We will not allow him to face it alone. He is a teammate and no one enters a room by himself. We encourage you to help Tadd and his family through this GoFundMe and continue to encourage him and pray for him and his family. Tadd and his family will not face this fight alone. We will be there with him every step of the way.
