Our hearts are heavy as we share that our niece Kharizma Manaia Umu Analani Jemison “Rizzy” (Abcde’s baby girl) from Detroit, has been diagnosed with leukemia on 10/17/25. She’s currently in the children’s hospital (PICU) dept as doctors work to relieve pressure in her brain and begin treatment.

This devastating news comes less than a year after our sister, Abcde, lost her husband — leaving her to care for Manaia and her big brother Qrstuv (Kukui) on her own. Through it all, she’s shown incredible strength and aloha, even when life has tested her beyond what’s fair.

Now, she faces every mother’s worst fear: fighting spiritually for her daughter’s life while holding her family together. The journey ahead will be long and emotional, filled with treatments and hospital stays.

We’re asking for your prayers, love, and support during this difficult time. Donations will help with medical costs, travel, meals, support to the families caring for Kukui and time away from work so she can stay by Manaia’s side.
