Fight with Pete

On February 2nd, my cousin Pete was a victim of aggravated assault. The assault resulted with facial fractures/paralysis, multiple sutures, and impaired vision.
For those who haven’t heard, Pete recently moved to San Francisco to pursue his dream of getting into the food/hospitality industry after being in finance for his entire career. His friends wanted to throw him a last hoorah in College Station (the location of his alma mater) as a going away sentiment. Unfortunately, the trip ended prematurely because of the incident. Throughout the aftermath, Pete was true to his lighthearted and optimistic nature, sharing corny jokes with the physicians and nurses.
When he’s not trying to be a Chopped contestant or baking sweet treats, Pete is always immersed with his family and friends. He’s always the first to offer a helping hand whether it’s catering for weddings or moving around furniture. His unconditional support to his family and friends makes it fitting for us to do the same.

Pete has been trying to manage financially by himself so far by being patient while seeking restitution as the assailant is being prosecuted. Never wanting to be an inconvenience to his friends, Pete has not made the incident very public but he should not have to handle this alone. There has been some compensation from the Crime Victims’ Compensation program but it hardly made a dent to the existing medical bills. We hope that we can raise some money to give him a financial cushion as he continues to pursue his dream.
Pete has expressed that if the restitution does come through then he will try his best to reimburse everyone for helping (He’ll also throw in some baked treats.) Thanks everyone for listening and we greatly appreciate anything that you are able to donate.
