Fight With Mike -A Battle Against Leukemia

Things are looking up for Mike as he finishes his induction phase of treatment this week! We are so excited to be able to have him home by the weekend, and are grateful that he’ll be here for the holidays. Thank you to everyone for your generous donations and positive thoughts Kelley and Mike

This GoFundMe is being created with the approval of Mike and Kelley, and 100% of the donations will go directly to them.

Sergeant Michael Romano has been a Police Officer with the Hadley Police Department for just shy of 10 years.

At 38 years old and newly married, Sergeant Romano was recently diagnosed with ALL-B, Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia, after not feeling well for several months.

The doctors and his team at Dana Farber are very optimistic about his treatment and recovery, and so are we.

Due to chemotherapy and any other treatments he may need and his recovery time, Sgt Romano will be out of work for an extended period of time. His wife and their families will need to travel from one side of the state to the other to see him while he is undergoing treatments while admitted. They believe he will need treatments on and off after returning home for upwards of a year.

Our hope with this GoFundMe is to lessen the financial burden they will encounter with one or both of them out of work for upwards of a year, the travel distance, hotel rooms, food, medical bills and anything else they may need during these times.

Having worked with and being friends Sgt. Romano for almost a decade, he is one of the most selfless and caring human souls we have come across. Many of you reading this have been on the receiving end of the smile on his face, constant optimism and encouraging words and laughter. If you haven’t yet had that privilege, we hope you will.
