Hi my name is Luke and I am 22 years old. 18 months ago I was in my 2nd year of student nursing and loving life. 16 months ago I was diagnosed with testicular cancer and had my testicle removed. I was told there was a 10 percent slight chance it would return.
I decided to change career as I had had to suspend my nursing career for the time being. I became an HGV driver after passing my test in December. Working hard and wanting to build a life, I bought a house thinking everything would be ok and moved in with my student nurse girlfriend in May.
However, sadly they have told me my cancer has returned to my Lung and this week I have completed my first 3 sessions of intense chemotherapy. I am currently unable to work as so poorly and now find myself in a position where I have a mortgage and household bills to pay for alongside everyday living expenses. I was not able to obtain critical illness cover due to my previous illness. This burden is just adding to the stress and anxiety that I am suffering.
I am therefore asking for donations to help me with paying my mortgage, bills and food for the next 3 months, when hopefully I will be well enough to return to my full time job. I thank you all in advance for any donation you can send to help support me during these gruelling months. It’s not easy and I would not wish this on anyone- especially at such a young age. I also want to take this opportunity to encourage men of all ages to check themselves for lumps etc monthly.
Thank you so much for in advance
