Fight with a Beat for Makenzie McSwain

Makenzie was born with multiple congenital heart defects and has had several heart surgeries performed. In October 2018 she was added to the heart transplant list with the expectation that she would need a heart within 4-5 years. It's now time for Makenzie to get her new heart! She will be admitted to the St. Louis Children's Hospital on January 23, 2023, to await her transplant.

This fundraiser is to raise funds for family travel, lodging, and food while Makenzie is hospitalized in St. Louis - specifically her parents Kelly and William. It will also be used for expenses Makenzie may incur while hospitalized. She is expected to stay in the hospital for 2-6 months before being able to transfer care to OU Children's Hospital.

I am organizing this fundraiser as a friend of Makenzie. I have worked with her mom Kelly for 10 years. We can't wait for her to be fully restored to her sassy self when she gets her new heart! Check out her journey on #TeamKenzie on Facebook.
