On August 27, 2019, my soon to be ex-wife determined that she would not drop off our son as we previously had agreed. I believe there were issues related to my gender identity that led to this decision. My son has lived with me ever since our separation and has spent very little time apart from me until these recent events.
On September 5th, I won the fight to get him back, temporarily. But I still face a steep custody battle and legal bills just to get him back took a significant amount of this gofundme. There will be many more hearings, attorneys fees, documents, and I don't want to be caught off guard.
My gender identity has played a role in the court proceedings. Nobody should have to justify keeping their kid because of their gender identity. Until I publicly transitioned, everyone was fine with me continuing to have the custody of my child. That all changed after I came out publicly.
