If you're lucky enough to know Ania, then you know she's one of the sweetest, kindest and most generous people you'll ever meet. I know a lot of people who say that about their nearest and dearest but again, if you're lucky enough to have Ania in your life...you know it's true. In early July Ania was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer and the treatment will be a very long and difficult journey. If you have been unfortunate enough to have cancer touch your family, then you know the daily stress that dealing with this disease creates.
After a long struggle with infertility Ania was finally blessed with not one but two amazing babies. Leo was born in 2018 and Mia arrived this past November. Her first signs of trouble were right when Mia was born but as all moms know, a lot of weird things happen to our bodies when going through pregnancy and childbirth. Breastfeeding got more difficult with time instead of easier and although the world had officially gone into lockdown because of the Covid 19 virus, she decided to go see her doctor. Not long later she was officially diagnosed with stage 3 Breast cancer.
Help us (her sisters) to scratch "can I afford to recover" off her list of things to worry about. She has insurance, but as a freelance graphic designer it's probably the worst insurance you can imagine so the bills are beginning to pile up left and right. Ania is usually the one doing the giving, but right now she needs us, you, to help her! She's a proud self-made woman and won't ask for your financial help so I'm doing it for her because right now she REALLY needs it.
To make matters even worse, Ania lives in Miami, the epicenter for the corona virus in the US. This means she received news of her cancer alone. She has all her doctors appointments, PET scans etc, all on her own. She can't rely on help from her friends and family in the area without putting herself at great risk. She cannot, CANNOT, get corona virus while undergoing chemo. This puts her and her family in a very unique and difficult situation.
Ania runs her own graphic design firm from her home but due to Covid 19, she's virtually had no income in the last few months. This will go down to zero once she starts chemo. Her husband Beldon who works with her is doing what he can to keep them afloat but again, because of Corona, he too has very little income or prospects for work in the near future.
It's the perfect storm. No money, 2 babies, and a deadly virus just outside her door. Ania needs our help so she can focus on the really important things in life right now: getting healthy. She's instead worrying about all the medical bills that are piling up even before she's started treatment. Please help us take this one thing off the table for her. Whatever you can afford will go a long way to make sure Ania gets past 2020 and comes back to being the joyful and full of life person we know and love.
All the money we raise will go solely to treating Ania from this awful disease. When we finally arrive at the end of this journey, and if there are any funds remaining, we will donate the rest directly to Breast Cancer research.
