Hi My name is Natalie, I am fundraising for my friend Lianne her 3 young kids and her husband Dave.

Lianne has let me share her story with you!

Lianne unfortunately lost her mum to Cancer last summer(2024) it was a shock to the whole family one day she was with them and the next she was gone, they weren't given any time!

They pulled together and Dave stayed strong at her side while she grieved the monumental loss of her mother. Skip forward a month and they were off to take a family break to try and just be together with their kids.

When they came home Dave was feeling a bit tired, he was getting things done and then in the evenings he was just wiped out! Lianne suggested after a few weeks of this that he gets checked out, something in her senses just felt off and she was worried.

Dave was sent to the hospital, they were both called back in.

Lianne's senses were right and now the family was dealt another blow Dave has been diagnosed with cancer too!! on Lianne's Birthday !(Nov 2024)

The doctors said there was masses all over both lobes of his liver and it was inoperable, but this was also secondary they had to find the original cause.....we are now at the end of January. Dave has had multiple biopsies, scans, cts and appointments we now know its STAGE 4 EOSOPHAGEAL CANCER.

it has also spread into his spine, its aggressive and a frightening time for Dave Lianne and their kids.

The doctors say there is no cure, but they will start him on chemo and immunotherapy trial.

It wont stop it BUT it gives Lianne and their 3 kids( Alice Oscar and Gerry) something they didn't get with her mum TIME!

Lianne has had to stop working to look after Dave to take him to his appointments as he is in pain. all the while looking after the kids and the house.

Dave is a wonderful dad to those kids, he was an apprentice plumber, he has a degree in history and geography. He went on to work in Montessori and completed his masters and became an advocate for men working in childcare.

He loves taking his boys to the shamrock rovers matches and were blessed to travel with the team earlier this year. He has taken part in multiple charity events over the years raising money for so many.

On February 1st I will be starting my walks (5k a Day in February Fight with Dave). My daughter is a cancer survivor and without everyone's kindness/generosity that 1st year with her would have been very different indeed! It is now my turn to pay it forward and give back all the love and kindness that was shown to me and my family.
