DEAR FAMILY, FRIENDS, AND KIND-HEARTED SUPPORTERS,
I am reaching out on behalf of my best friend Kristina, who is like family to me. I have known her for 26 years since we met in the 7th grade. Kristina just recently turned 40 years old this year.
Kristina is a resilient person who has gone through a lot of trials and tribulations throughout her life.
From a young age, Kristina had a lot of health problems where she was in and out of the hospital. Her father passed away when she was 9. She grew up with a single mother and older sister. She is also a domestic violence survivor from past relationships. But, the best thing that came out of her last relationship is her miracle baby, her beautiful son Patrick, who is diagnosed with Asperger’s Syndrome. After all those tragic events, she moved to another state to start a new life with her mother and son.
Kristina is a dedicated, loving, hardworking mother with a unique personality. She worked multiple odd jobs just to make ends meet for her and her son, after several years of surviving and living a quiet, peaceful life.
Kristina recently went into the hospital due to pain in her cervix where she had to undergo emergency surgery because there was a mass the size of a golf ball in her ovaries. At the same time, she unexpectedly found out that she is diagnosed with kidney failure. She will be needing interval dialysis sessions and a possible transplant in the foreseeable future. She is also facing complications in treatment which are affecting her nervous and cardiovascular systems. At this time, we are waiting on lab results to determine the cause. Her team of doctors is saying it is likely a chronic disease that silently developed and is now in critical condition.
Unfortunately, due to her recent surgery, procedures, and recovery time, she is unable to work, and her job is threatening to cut her hours, and worse, let her go. This job is the only stream of income to provide for her and her son.
My family and I are with deepest sympathy for this single mom.
Our hearts break for her and it literally puts me to tears knowing that she is going through this and has always been so unlucky in life. But her one greatest achievement, her blessing, is her son. The reason why she keeps enduring and fighting for her life.
I have set up a GoFundMe to provide Kristina with the financial assistance necessary to help cover arising medical bills, travel costs for treatments, and essential daily expenses. Your generous contributions will alleviate some of the burdens and provide crucial support during this challenging time, allowing Kristina to focus on her health and recovery.
Every donation, no matter how small, will make a significant difference. If you are unable to contribute financially, your thoughts, prayers, and positive vibes will mean the world to us. Please share this page and thank you in advance for your prayers and support.
God bless,
Janice Cui
