Dear Family and Friends of Zion. Many of you have asked how you could support Zion with his battle against Leukemia. We have started a fundraiser that will go directly to an account for Zion. The funds will help his family with any unpaid medical bills and to support Zions needs at this difficult time.

If you have come across the path of Zion Porrino – your life has been touched by him in some way. It could be his infectious smile, his kind genuine heart or his love of sports and life. Zion is a normal, kind- hearted, sports loving 7-year-old that appreciates everything around him.
Zion loves life! He has a special love for everything and everyone around him. He plays like no other. You will never be bored with Zion around. He is FULL of energy. He has learned how to play so many different sports & games – if you enjoy it – he will play it with you.
Zion is smart– his 1st grade teachers adore him and he is knocking his schoolwork out of the park! He has been gifted with the love to read. He reads to his brother Leon, sister Avril and Abuela Sally every night.
Zion loves all sports, with a focus on Soccer and Baseball. He chatters football lingo like a champ. He can bounce himself around the gymnastics floor. He is competitive in playing Pool (he has his own pool stick) and shooting darts. He beats his Nono in Dominos and gives his PoP PoP a good run in Chess. He plays board games with his Abuela Gray and Abulelo daily! He loves all card games: UNO and War are favorites. His Poppy won’t admit this, but Zion beats him in all kinds of video games!
Zions Mom is amazing and has taught him to enjoy healthy foods. In the hospital, he didn’t ask for candy or chocolate, Zion asked us to bring him Broccoli and Salmon (please don’t burn the Broccoli) with a beet juice smoothie…Really? The child is just special!
“YOUR CHILD HAS LEUKEMIA”
It is a day we will never forget, May 07, 2020. Imagine that dreadful day when the doctors told us that our energic, happy, dimple toting Zion has Leukemia. Our little man is battling Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (“ALL”). We are told this is the most common and curable childhood cancers.
Zion has embarked on the most difficult journey in his young life. He will add one more accomplishment to his list of strengths – WARRIOR – Zion is now fighting to save his body and regain his strength. He is undergoing Chemotherapy and a kamikaze of other drugs to cure him of his Leukemia. The fight will be long. It will be hard. But Zion WILL FIGHT like a WARRIOR!
Zions treatment protocol is 2.5 -3 years.
