Hello, this GoFundMe is to support Octavia Dunson-Mysiewicz and her parents; Brooke Dunson and Casey Mysiewicz during Octavia’s cancer journey.
Here’s a little bit about our sweet girl~ This is Octavia. She is 6 years old and will melt your heart the second you meet her or talk to her. She loves all things magical; unicorns, dragons, fairies, and wizards as she is a master magi herself. She takes great interest in all forms of art. She loves to draw and paint. She even frequently creates clothes for her Barbie’s out of materials like paper towels, balloons, and tape. Perhaps her biggest passion though, is stuffed animals. She loves to collect them and discover and learn about new kinds of animals. She aspires to be many things when she grows up and the list seems to expand often. Currently the list is: dolphin trainer, scientist, paleontologist, fashion designer, astronaut, and veterinarian. She is a dream chaser with a sparkling personality and a smile that will brighten any room.
On June 19th 2025, we received news that would dim that light. Octavia was diagnosed with Ewings Sarcoma in her left femur. It is a rare bone cancer. She recently has started treatment but has a long road to go. Her treatment plan includes 14 rounds of chemotherapy and an extensive surgery after round 6. This plan has two different types of chemotherapy rounds. One round being V.D.C, which is a 2-3 day stay in the hospital, the other being I.E, which is a 6 day stay. She will have 13 day breaks in between chemotherapy rounds, as long as her blood counts are good. If not, she will have unexpected hospital admissions. She has already experienced her first unexpected hospital admission after her first round of chemo which landed us in the hospital for 4 days; giving her only a 2 day break before her next round. The treatment protocol for this cancer is very aggressive and will be extremely hard on all of us, but we just have to pray and remain hopeful that the treatment does its job so she can kick this cancers butt.
During this time working has been very limited or non existent completely. Because of the lack of the option to work, bills and expenses are beginning to pile up fast and hospital bills will be not far behind. Thank you for reading our story about our baby girl. This will be the hardest journey of our lives; any help or support for our family is much appreciated!!
**As some of you know, GoFundMe DOES take transaction fees, which means we do NOT get 100% of the money that is donated.. with that being said, if you would feel more comfortable donating directly to myself or Casey- please get in touch with us so we can find a way you feel better about doing. By no means do we want anyone to think we don’t want or appreciate donations on here, we are entirely grateful for everything and anything. We just wanted to be transparent about the way GoFundMe handles the money as it is new to us too. Thank you!!**
