Fight Injustice for Black-Owned Family Property

Donation protected
My name is Pamela Barnes, and I’m asking for your support as we are in desperate need to protect my family’s 91-acre heir property on Toledo Bend, which has been in the Williams family since the early 1900s. Recently, we’ve faced threats and retaliation from local officials in Shelby County, Texas.
In June 2023, Constable Roy Cheatwood filed a contested deed aimed at seizing my 74-year-old uncle Junior Williams' share of the property, taking advantage of his health struggles and our family’s grief. Despite our legal efforts, we continue to encounter discriminatory practices, including being jailed, that threaten our legacy.
Your support can make a significant impact in our fight for justice. Any donation or information on resources for Black landowners facing discrimination would be greatly appreciated. For verification or further information, please feel free to reach out to me via messenger, or Sean Hightower with Hightower, Franklin, & James Law, Nacogdoches, Tx.
Thank you for standing with us to protect our family’s history and future.
With heartfelt thanks,
Pamela Barnes
