Hi, my name is Dorothy Austin-Roaches, I am Stephen's mother. My son has been in a hospital since 09/08/23, released on 09/09/23 with pain pills, returned to the hospital on 09/24/23, treated for an infectious disease then released on 9/29/23 with morphine pills rushed to emergency on 10/6/23. He was so near-death stomach was swollen like a balloon. Rushed from one hospital to another that same night to a hospital that specializes in infectious diseases. He was so near death when he arrived that the doctors concentrated on saving his life. He has been in ICU since 10/06/2023. He has had eight procedures, and several blood transfusions to help him live. He has a bacterium that has entered his blood system and his stomach. He was near death. A mother's prayers have helped the doctors determine what bacteria they were fighting to apply the correct antibiotic. They are still fighting the bacteria in his body. He has lost fifty-five pounds and is being fed nutrition through a tube. He has been moved from ICU, but he has a long journey yet to go. I live in Texas. I had to temporarily come to Arizona to help him fight for his life. I need your help to fight for Stephen! He has four children and each day he worries about getting back to work to take care of them. I am not sure what his capacity for life will be like after this!
