This is for the Wright Family. Our kids go to school together and play sports together.
Ron had a stroke on Saturday morning, June 27, 2019. It affected his cerebellum and brain stem. An artery in his neck ruptured leading to a clot which moved up to his brain. After this stroke, he was moved to inpatient rehab and the doctors said he was a good rehabber, so they outlook was very promising.
However, Ron had another stroke a couple days later. He had a procedure that morning to repair the blood flow to the vision center of his brain. The 3+ hour procedure successfully removed a large clot and several small clots from his brain. It affected his right side and his short term memory is not good. He only sees blurs/outlines and had the hiccups. He is stable but they are monitoring him closely.
There is only a 2% chance for a person to have the kind of stroke he had last Saturday and only a 2% chance he would ever have another one let alone it happening within a week.
as of 7/2/19, Ron is not responding to the inflammation meds or blood pressure meds. His CT showed more swelling, not less. His blood pressure will not stay in range, so the doctors are currently assembling and consulting. They are looking to do surgery to remove a portion of his skull to make room for the brain swell.
The kids are hanging in there, but really miss their Dad. Michelle is being incredibly strong for them as well, but we all know you can't do it on your own. We are here to support you, Michelle!
Please pray for Ron and his family. He has a long road to recovery to travel, as he is not out of the hospital yet, and will have a lot of rehab when he gets out.
If you can, please donate to this fundraiser which is set up to help offset some of the financial burden the amounting medical costs (in addition to time off of work) is putting on their family.
We are praying for you, Ron!
