Meet Roberto Negron. He is an amazing father, husband, son, brother and best friend. Roberto and his wife, Jamie, have been together for 19 years and married for 15. Together they have 2 children: a 17 yr old son and a 12 yr old daughter. The Negron family bond is something truly amazing; one which most families aspire to have!
In just a short time, their world has been turned upside down. In April, Roberto was having some abdominal pain, which was thought to be something as simple as a gallbladder issue, and it quickly turned into complicated, life-threatening issues.
After countless amounts of testing, blood draws, ultrasounds, scans and biopsies, he was diagnosed with an extremely rare cancer called "Cholangiocarcinoma." There are fewer than 20,000 US cases a year, making this cancer very difficult to treat.
This has been extremely difficult for their family to process, while making daily calls and plans to try and figure out their situation and Roberto's care. The Negrons have a long road ahead of them physically, emotionally, and of course, financially. They are seeking different treatment options that may involve extensive travel and hotel expenses.
Cholangiocarcinoma is aggressive, so chemotherapy treatments began a few weeks ago with hopes to have immunotherapy as well. However, the immunotherapy was denied by insurance. Having the immunotherapy treatment would be a much more ideal situation, but at this time it’s out of reach.
Unfortunately, side effects from the chemotherapy are beginning to start, causing fear that he cannot continue to work, due to the great amount of discomfort he is in every day. This raises another serious issue for them because he carries the family's health insurance.
Please take a moment to consider supporting this loving family. Any amount will be a huge help. We need Roberto to keep his spirits high, and to have as much strength and energy as he can to fight this battle so he can continue to make memories with his family!
This Go Fund Me has been started with hopes of making their lives less stressful. Funds will be used to help the Negrons with the overwhelming amount of medical bills coming in, to increase their chances of immunotherapy treatment, and for their basic day-to-day expenses. Please consider donating to this loving family and please, please keep them in your prayers. Thank you so much!
