Fight with Perry

Police Academy 107th Class would love your support for one of our finest. Our dear friend Winfred "Perry," one of the training instructors at the police academy, has fallen ill with Stage 4 Colon Cancer and is fighting to enjoy many more years with his loving wife Josey, family, colleagues and friends.

First, we are requesting that you add Perry and his family to your prayer list at church and within your homes. We believe that with the power of prayer, Perry will be able to fight and beat this disease.

Moreover, the daily needs and assistance that Perry now requires hinders his wife Josey from working a job any longer as she has become a full-time caregiver to support Perry. Their lives are forever changed by this disease, and makes it necessary for his wife to be in full physical condition, mentally stable, and emotionally strong to support in the aid as Perry's primary caregiver.

In order to provide full support to Perry, we are requesting financial donations to assist in the ongoing expenses and care that medical insurance and FMLA do not cover.

There are many unforeseen circumstances that Josey has endured since the initial prognosis, and Perry has been the breadwinner in his household since joining the police department. Recently, Perry's health had taken another turn for the worse, as he became so ill he was hospitalized. While in the hospital, he suffered a severe stroke which has caused slight paralysis and weakness on the right-hand side of his body. However, Perry is still fighting and trying to remain strong enough to be moved to a rehab facility.

It is extremely difficult for his wife to be able to keep up with the day-to-day responsibilities while still being able to support her loving husband. This has been a tremendous change in their lives. We want to be able to jump in and allow Josey to focus on her husband's recovery and what he needs physically and emotionally.
