Fight for Patience

{9/16} On Sunday Morning my family received heart breaking news. 
A phone call that No Family ever wants to receive.

Patience, my 13-year-old niece, was in a horrible car accident, and severely injured.
We knew she was in rough shape, but could never have imagined how severe her injuries really were until the doctors could confirm her injuries.

Patience and two of her friends went for a joy ride in a car, lost control,  resulting in the call rolling over several times and hitting a tree, pinning Patience unconscious in the back seat.
Patience had to be cut out of the car. She sustained bruising and other injuries to her lungs, she broke her neck, and broke her back.

It wasn’t until after she was airlifted to the hospital that my brother, Jason, and Patience’s mom, Jennie, received the news that Patience was paralyzed from the chest down.

NO Parent/ Family should ever have to hear news like this.

The likelihood of Patience ever walking again... next to none.
We are still and always will be holding hope for a Miracle to happen.

The two friend that were in the car with Patience were released from the hospital that same evening.
Patience was not so lucky.
She is a strong kid and fighting for her life as hard as she can.

Patience has been heavily sedated but came to for just long enough to squeeze her parents’ hands and see their supporting and loving faces.

On Monday {9/17}, Patience was scheduled for surgery. The doctors were going to try and operate on Both her neck, and back. 
They started with Patience’s neck and saw that it was starting to become too much for her, so they were only able to operate on her neck. 
They scheduled another surgery for Patience today {9/18} to help support her back and help take some pressure off of it.

Unfortunately, Patience's lunges were filling up with fluids and they were not able to operate.

We are Praying that the doctors are able to clear her lungs out and that she doesn’t get pneumonia.

Her back is stable enough, but surgery is definitely something needed.

Patience is fighting for her life and has a very long, tough road ahead of her.

I am asking for all the help possible, to raise money for Patience so she can continue to receive the best possible care, and to help ease some of the financial stresses for her parents as they will be adding up very fast in this time of desperate need.

 

My Family and I would like to Thank You All in advance for all the love and support that everyone has given to us. As numb as we may feel in such a surreal event, we are truly blessed to have all of you here for us when we truly need it.
