These last 6 months have been so devastating and heartbreaking to watch as this young family fights for their 6 month old baby girl, Saylyn, with a major heart defect. RChelle is a stay at home mom of 2 daughters trying to be there for both of them and stay strong with the help of her husband and family. Terry is a hard working Power Lineman, trying to work in between this difficult time, taking days or nights off from the hospital to make ends meet for his family. Their other daughter, Faythlyn who is 4, has been staying with family a lot and missing her baby sister when she’s not at home and in the hospital, since she can’t see her during this COVID time. We just ALL want to see Saylyn live a normal healthy life like any 6 month old should live. She is such a happy and beautiful soul and deserves the WORLD!!!

RChelle and Terry welcomed their beautiful baby girl Saylyn Louise on December 9, 2019. She was unexpectedly transferred to San Diego Rady's Childrens Hospital NICU at just 1 day old for a major heart condition. She was diagnosed with a condition called Truncus Arteriosus along with other complications. After her first 3 months spent in the hospital, she was finally able to go home and be with her family, while being closely monitored. 
Saylyn went in for open heart surgery April 7th, at just 4 months old, which was a long awaited surgery since birth. Due to the extent of her condition, there were some things left to resolve on their own with time. Since then, there has been multiple complications and many trips to the hospital. She now has extensive lung disease along with heart failure. This precious baby girl just smiles through it all and is happy
as can be
June 10th, she went in for a heart cath to check on a main artery that was supposed to grow, and a hole in her heart that was left open to help compensate (VSD). Sadly, it was unsuccessful, as they were unable to put a stent in the artery since it hadn’t grown, and the hole was bigger, causing more problems. Before she was fully recovered, she went into cardiac arrest and they had to do chest compressions to bring her back. Once again, Saylyn, being the warrior she is, overcame that horrific scare.
After multiple doctors meeting and a recent CT and MRI, the decision to do a 2nd open heart surgery has been made! The plan is to close that hole left open in her heart (VSD) and change a valve, as well as open up her main artery. Basically that hole increasing in size has caused too much blood to flow into the lungs, which is causing high pressure in her lungs, making her heart work harder. The 2nd surgery is set for June 17th, 2020. 
This has been devastating for the entire family, and causing a major financial hardship for them, as they still need to pay bills and keep a roof over their head. Terry is still trying to work when he can, and even go in for night jobs to keep income coming in. They are back and forth between hotels near the hospital and staying with families that live closer to San Diego, since they live one hour away. They are also trying to keep normalcy for their other daughter Faythlyn the best they can. 
I’m asking for prayers first and foremost for this baby girl and the entire family to all be back together in the place they call HOME! Any financial donation would be greatly appreciated for this family as well! The last thing they should have to worry about right now is paying for hotel rooms, leaving the hospital to go work at a highly dangerous job day or night, keeping their house bills current, or the countless medical bills that are adding up.
