Together for Mr.P

My name is Samantha Soriano and I have chosen to make this gofundme page for various reasons, one being the impact Mr. Pericles has made on me as an individual.  Mr. Pericles was my ninth grade biology teacher and there were plenty of ups and downs in his classroom and almost everyone that has had him in the past or has him currently knows that his class was or is "impossible", however from what I remember, he never failed to put all of his energy into what he did, not only illustrating his passion to his students but giving us students a passion to learn as well. Near the end of my first quarter in my ninth grade year I went to him to ask him about my test grade because it was fairly low and I had always been rather gifted in science and he instantly sat me down happy and willing to help with mental plugs to a concept I was having trouble understanding, yet, he explained them in depth so that I would have an understanding of them. As he was explaining, he began asking me questions to know more about my life and what I had a passion for. Over my ninth grade year I went to him many more times after school and after class asking him for more help and complaining to him that his tests were impossible and telling him that Tuesday nights I would go home and study however, as soon as I got the test the following morning I would think I studied the wrong lesson because I would understand nothing but he would always tell me to “not give up that there was a smart in me”. I continued to seek his help and advice throughout the year and he was always reassuring and caring, especially when I expressed my worry to him about the upcoming final in his class. Unfortunately, near the end of summer I was told Mr. P had been diagnosed with Prostate cancer, my initial thought went to his family and the suffering and pain they all must be enduring, and of course what Mr.P must be going through. I went to God asking and praying about what I could do to lessen the pain him and his family are going through and from this I instantly thought of a gofundme page to help pay for some of the medical bills and other expenses Mr. P and his family will have to pay. By donating, some pressure and worry will be taken off not only him but his family by knowing that his medical bills are being cared for, giving him and his family more time to focus on each other. Not only has Mr. P made such a big impact on my life but he will continue to make an impact on more children to come that will have the privilege to take his class. Thank you for listening.
