Fight for Maggie

Donation protected

My apologies to everyone who have tried to donate but have been unable to because the account is blocked by the GoFundMe organization. My first three deposits were made with no problem but they are constantly asking to verify my account information. I have sent them e-statements three times with my credit union logo and a copy of my check with routing number and account number and company logo as they have I have requested. They have absolutely no live person to talk to and after researching with the police and the better business bureau have learned that they operate out of a post office box in Redwood City California. the Redwood City California police were unaware of this and were aware that the GoFundMe organization does not exist in Redwood City. Apparently they are owned by a large corporation unrelated to the original GoFundMe organization. The FBI definitely needs to look into the GoFundMe campaign.

To all my family, Facbook friends and all who have endured and suffered through a health crisis:

My name is Sean Riley.  On the 17th of May, 2017,  my wife of 22 years, Maggie, was diagnosed with stage IV Pancreatic cancer.  The doctor's gave her a minimum of 6 weeks to live depending on how she responded to her regiment of Chemotherapy.  The night after the doctors gave us the news at the hospital and after we were able to pull ourselves together, we began researching "Best diet for fighting Pancreatic cancer" (worldwide search).   We came upon the Ketogenic Diet which she began, fast and furious, by ordering the Keto book and the Keto Kitchen cookbook.  Essentially, it cuts out the things that cancer thrives on -- sugar and carbs.  She also began Chemotherapy treatments and Acupuncture treatments with a focus on pain management.  Pancreatic cancer is said to be one of the more painful cancers.  Throughout a long year of chemo, she has endured "no" pain and during the first month lost around 42 lbs. on the keto diet (which had to be revised because she lost too much weight).  Through her subsequent CT scans, we realized a reduction in the Pancreatic cancer tissue by 50% -- the least amount of time that her team of tenured Oncologists have ever seen (their words).  Maggie is now entering her second year battling with the decision to discontinue Chemo.  Her body has grown risistant to the Chemo teatments according to her doctors, although they encourage her to continue with it ...

Some friends at church approached me regarding their personal experience,  having chosen to seek treatment outside of the U.S. through their own informed decisions.  One of them was diagnosed with a expressed terminal cancer.  He declined Chemo from the time of diagnosis and went to the Oasis of Hope in Mexico for two  sessions with follow up.  He is now past the six year marker and considered copletely cancer free.  We spoke to two other couples as well having experienced the same results.

One obstacle, "outside the country" means they don't take your medical insurance  and you have to pay cash.  My wife's short term disability has run out and her long term has not kicked in while our income has dropped to less than half with her not working at all and me working less.  The financial and emotional strain has been more significant than I have been willing to admit.

Our financial bucket is now empty and having never imagined we would find ourselves in this position, we are asking for help with the cost of this lifesaving treatment.  We have learned, as many in the U.S. have learned, we must go abroad for the proper Immunotherapy. It simply isn't conducted in the U.S.  The U.S. stalled with "clinical trial studies" even though these treatments have been conducted all over the world for decades, and in some cases, for centuries.

We are leaving this month.  We humbly ask for your financial help, and appreciate your positive thoughts and prayers.
