Liz Garo and Melanie Tusquellas are suing Save Live LLC / Gate 52 for permanently closing their venue, The Alibi Palm Springs — a beloved independent home for live music, artists, and community. What Happened
Founded in 2018, The Alibi became a creative refuge for artists and fans. During the pandemic, Liz and Melanie partnered with Save Live LLC (now Gate 52), a company that promised to “save” struggling independent venues. Instead, Save Live breached contracts, spread false claims, and forced The Alibi to close permanently — even accusing these respected women of exploiting the #MeToo movement for personal gain. After three years of legal fighting, Liz and Melanie have exhausted their personal savings. They now need the final $50,000 to reach trial—where their story can finally be heard in court and in public.
If funds exceed expenses, the remainder will be donated to the Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles (LAFLA).
