God's new Angel: Joshua Manos

On sunday August 18, 2019 the family went to Pardee lake recreation at Stony Creek Rd, Ione CA to celebrate the birthday of a cousin. After lunch he stayed behind with the guys of the family and continued eating as we headed to the pool with the children to continue swimming.

We didn't notice he return as he is very quiet child, we took pictures and even did a live video on facebook and he was seen included. We continued playing and swimming mostly focusing on the young ones as the preteens, including Joshua has been swimming safely for a few hours already.

We were suddenly asked by good samaritans if a child was with us as we turned and saw him being pulled out of the water unconscious. The family immediately ran towards Joshua and the good samaritans who quickly started to perform CPR as my aunt and other good samaritans, management of the pool dialed 911.

As minutes passed, Joshua's color was returning but we still struggled to get a stable heartbeat, he was still unconscious and his mouth and nose foamed, food he ate started coming out of his mouth as well. CPR continued until paramedics arrived and helped. He was transported by helicopter to Sutter Amador Hospital in Jackson where we were informed that the paramedics and the hospital staff continuously did CPR for nearly and hour until his heart started pumping again. We were told that after a CT scan, they found head trauma and the hour in which his brain could not get the oxygen injured his brain in which at that time, the severity was unknown. But he was breathing and his heart was beating on its own.

When he was stable enough to be flown to Sutter Medical hospital in Sacramento, the doctor told us that 99% of his brain was not functioning and that his brain was swelling. They could not confirm that he was brain dead as Joshua, the fighter that he is, would breath every now and then on his own as machines helped him breathe when he couldn't. His parents who both work in different places in Alaska came home. His dad arrived last night Monday August 19 and his mom is on her way because she struggled to find a flight.

Joshua has always been a very quiet kid but super kind. At the time of the incident, there were 6 adults in the pool with teens and children and 5 adults at our table supervising. We were in the very pool he was found in. tragically, no one, not even strangers who were at the pool heard, seen or noticed he was drowning.

According to the couple who saw him and pulled him out of the pool, they saw he was under water and first thought was playing, seeing how long he can be underwater as their children noticed him playing like that since earlier that day. They observed him for a minute and noticed he still didn't resurface so they checked and pulled him out as soon as they saw he was unconscious. It hurts us as we were in the pool he was in, there was no gasping, no flapping, no cry for help.

Joshua is currently in a coma and is in need of all the help he can get may it be through financial help or prayers. We kindly knock at the door of your hearts for any donation you can give to help. The money donated will be used for medical bills and expenses in regards to Joshua's needs. We also ask that you share this to everyone you know and help us in prayer for the recovery of Joshua. The family believes in miracles and we believe Joshua can make it through this. Hold or hand as we hold Joshua's in this battle. God bless everyone.
