On July 19, 2016, our beloved Favi was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. Anyone who knows Favi would describe her as loving, kind, selfless, and a fighter - and fight she did. Thankfully, the cancer was caught in its early stages and after receiving radiation treatment, we were in the clear. The cancer was gone.
But on November 9, 2017, a little over a year from her first diagnosis, we were informed that the cancer returned for a second time. Favi and her husband Urias, along with the rest of our family, were completely shocked and devastated by this news.
No one is deserving of this crippling disease, least of all someone as compassionate and selfless as our Nina Favi. It was at this time that a treatment plan was devised and on December 4th, she completed her first of many chemotherapy sessions. The months that followed included endless doctor visits, sleepless nights, debilitating pain, various medications, and multiple rounds of chemo. A year of hell, two cancer diagnoses, a complete lifestyle change, and 4 surgeries later, our warrior is once again, cancer free!
Despite kicking this cancers ass for a second time, Favi is still recovering, attending physical therapy, and not yet able to return to work. Though she has the support of her loving husband Urias, they are facing astronomical medical bills for two years of treatments, hospitalizations, medications, etc.
This couple has been through hell and back. Any support you can offer through this campaign is greatly appreciated. All funds raised will go to the Rodriguez family in hopes of diminishing their financial burden. Every little bit helps!
