Help Debbie Werthmann Fight Brain Cancer

Debbie Werthmann: the woman, the myth, the legend. This note is to her friends, her family, and all the ones that love her, and by extension, her two girls, Jen & Mel.
This past October, doctors found two tumors on Debbie’s brain. Within days of discovery, she underwent brain surgery and doctors were able to remove the bigger tumor.
Unfortunately, Debbie has been diagnosed with grade 4 glioblastoma. While the surgery went well, there is still a tumor (roughly the size of a grain of rice) that will be treated with radiation and chemo.
Post surgery, Debbie has gone through intensive physical and occupational therapy to help her gain back her speech, mobility, and independence. As you can imagine, this journey has not been easy on the Werthmann girls. Because Deb will need constant care and continued support, the family and her doctors have found it best to move and transition her care to Denver, CO.
Debbie has spent weeks in the hospital and even longer in a rehab facility, and has not been able to work while recovering from brain surgery. Mounting medical bills, a cross country move, and all of the costs that go into long term care, are putting an extreme financial burden on the family.
The road has been scary, the road has been sad, and the road has felt long. Mel and Jen have been by Deb’s side the whole way, and Bob has been watching over her giving her strength - In fact, coincidentally Debbie’s surgery happened on Bob’s birthday, 11/1.
Debbie still has a long road ahead of her, but she has a strong spirit, a determined mind, and the kindest heart. If you know Deb, Mel, or Jen, then you know they are humble and would never want to impose on their family and friends, and would never ask for help or financial support. So that’s exactly why I am doing it for them. If you know any of these three strong women, then you love them. They are gifts on this earth that can use a little bit of help. So please, I ask you in this holiday season to give the gift of comfort and peace by helping this family that we all love so much.
