Fight for Chico: A Rescue Kitten’s Urgent Medical Journey
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Jeff, and I am reaching out on behalf of Dorothy Bochenek, my dear friend and fellow animal lover. Just a week ago, Dorothy discovered a kitten on the street, traumatized and in shock, prompting an immediate rush to our local vet in Streetsville.
The initial x-rays revealed a frightening scenario: Chico, as we’ve come to call him, had several puncture wounds causing air to leak into his chest, a condition that severely compromised his breathing. Our vet made an urgent decision to stabilize him by removing the air before it was even safe to transport him to a specialized emergency facility, Lakeshore Emergency Clinic.
Despite the successful emergency procedure, Chico’s battle continues. He has been in and out of ICU, consistently requiring an oxygen tent to aid his breathing. Throughout this ordeal, he has shown resilience—eating and managing other vital functions—but the challenge of keeping fluid and air out of his lungs persists.
Dorothy and I have dedicated our lives to rescuing animals and advocating for their welfare, urging people to adopt rather than buy. Now, we are faced with mounting medical expenses for Chico, compounded by personal challenges; I am disabled and Dorothy’s car recently broke down, limiting our ability to manage this crisis efficiently.
We are asking for your help to cover the costs of Chico’s ongoing medical care. Every contribution, no matter the size, will help Chico breathe easier and recover fully. Your support not only aids in his recovery but also strengthens our resolve to save more animals in need.
Please consider donating to our campaign. Share our story with friends and family who also believe in giving animals like Chico a second chance at life. Thank you for your kindness and generosity during this critical time.
