Fight For Officer Rialmo

On November 20th, 2018 Officer Robert Rialmo was placed on unpaid leave with the Chicago Police Department for his involvement in a shooting in late 2015. Although his shooting was declared justified by multiple agencies they're still moving forward in attempting to fire him from the department. He now faces an additional 4-8 month investigation to fight for his position with CPD. Robert has been forced to tap into his deferred compensation and possible pension funds just to get by which will not last the span of the hearing.
In that three year timespan, Bobby's character has been called into question and he's been dealing with an insurmountable amount of stress. In the face of overwhelming legal fees our hope is to alleviate the pressure of everyday bills.
When he was forced to react in a very dangerous situation, he was wrongly labeled as an "embattled" officer by our local media. Bobby is a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and has been on the police department for 5 years. In his darkest hour he failed to receive any support from his superior officers, Fraternal Order of Police union and city administration.
Robert has also been placed on a hiring freeze for a lateral transfer to the Chicago Fire department due to the incident. With his military service he was set to be in the first fire academy held in early 2016. These decisions have put his future on hold with no regard towards Robert.
Our Chicago Police Officers face difficult challenges every day and it seems as if only the negatives are highlighted throughout the media. Day in and day out they risk their lives to protect complete strangers. However, when they react to life threatening situations they are immediately labeled in the worst way imaginable.
