Hi, my name is Karina Gonzalez, and my family and I are asking for your help.

My husband Alex Bonilla, was recently detained by ICE outside of my house on his way to work, and we are now facing a financial emergency. We’ve created the GoFundMe to raise funds for an immigration attorney, and to help with his immigration bond.

Alex is not a criminal. He came to the U.S. undocumented — but he did it so out of necessity, and not wrongdoing.

He grew up in poverty in Honduras. His mom has passed away and his dad still currently lives in Honduras. He built a life of love around his family. He took in a child as his own and she is medically fragile. And had two more of his own with me. Due to my oldest daughter’s medical condition it’s been hard to come up with the money on my own. I’m afraid that I might lose my job. I never thought I would be going through this with my children.

Alex has always given what little he has, helping others with food, shelter, or rides. He is the backbone of our family.

We’re doing everything we can, but we can’t do this alone. Please help us fight for Alex, bring him home, and keep our family together.
