Fight for a Fair Election in Ward 3
Update 2: The initial court date is set for Monday, August 24 at 2:00 PM at Pima County Superior Court. This hearing will be an important first step in addressing the ballot errors that prevented hundreds of Tucson voters from having their full say in this election.
We’d love for you to stand with us by joining in the courtroom. Please come out on Monday and help us fight for fair elections in Ward 3.
Update 1: You showed up for us and we hit our $5,000 legal retainer goal in just 3 hours. Thank you to everyone who helped make it happen. Our lawyers have quoted up to $20,000 for full litigation, so we are raising our goal to ensure we can take this fight all the way. Please keep sharing and giving if you are able. Every dollar helps us protect democracy in Ward 3.
The race for Tucson City Council’s Ward 3 seat is going into an automatic recount. The margin is only 19 votes. But here is the question: if 358 voters across Wards 3, 5, and 6 had not been mailed the wrong ballot in July, would Sadie have already won? We need your help to find out.
Sadie is a lifelong Tucsonan, a mom, and a community leader. Her grassroots campaign has been fueled by working-class families, not political insiders or corporate donors. She ran to bring real transparency, equity, and accountability to City Hall. On Election Day, she earned over 60% of the in-person vote. Now she has a clear mandate from voters to leave no stone unturned in finding out what this election could have been without the ballot error.
We are raising money for a legal retainer to begin challenging the error and fighting to ensure every eligible voter’s voice is heard. This is about more than one race. It is about protecting the integrity of our local democracy.
If you believe every vote should count, chip in today. Together, we can make sure the people of Ward 3 get the election they deserve.
