during a echocardiogram at 25 wks in pregnancy, i was notified by the doctor that our son had a “hole” in his heart, called Tetralogy of Fallot; it comes with 4 heart defects. the bigger problem has been taken care of, which was the hole (VSD) in order to get his heart pumping like a normal heart. now being a month and a half, one of the cardiologist from Cook’s recently saw on Draven’s recent echocardiogram that the bottom of his heart is thickened, meaning his heart is pumping a little extra hard in order to work itself properly.

the cardiologist explained at first she would like for this to be taken care of in a month or two before it gets to be a bigger problem for Draven.

but now, the doctor has decided the procedure needs to be done in 2 or 3 weeks, she’s weary of the result and is impressed with the way Draven is handling the defect so far.

the procedure will happen either through his neck, upper thigh or his private area; stints will be placed but if the stints can’t be performed the way they want it to, Draven will have to be opened up again for another open heart surgery.

our son has been through so much, but this stubborn boy has proved over and over again that he’s willing to fight through the obstacles he’s given.

we ask for a small donation and most importantly, prayers. this is a very short notice for us and with the long drive ahead, the gas, food and stay wise, we aren’t sure how long we will be staying this time. anything helps, and we appreciate it greatly.
