Fight breast cancer - support for a wig and living costs
Donation protected
Hi everyone,
I’m reaching out to try to raise some money and support for my amazing sister, Imogen.
At just 27 years old, Imogen has recently been diagnosed with breast cancer. It’s news that’s turned all of our worlds upside down. Right now, she’s waiting on more results to find out if the cancer has spread - which could make it untreatable - and whether she’ll need a double mastectomy alongside many other tests and finding out if it’s genetic.
What we do know is that she’ll be starting at least 6 months of chemotherapy very soon. That means she’ll lose her hair - a big and emotional part of this journey. Imogen is hoping to buy a high-quality wig to help her feel like herself again through treatment. It takes reputable wig makers between 8-12 weeks to create a wig and costs approximately £1500.
If you know Imogen, you know how strong, positive, and driven she is. She’s not just my sister - she’s my best friend, a genuinely inspiring person and a hugely successful dog trainer, passionate about helping people and their pups live happier lives together. Her energy, humour, and love for animals light up every room (and every field!).
She’s determined to keep working as much as she can during treatment, but as someone who’s self-employed, the months ahead are filled with uncertainty. There’s no sick pay or guaranteed income - just her fighting spirit and a lot of unknowns.
That’s why we’ve set up this page to support her and to help with:
- A natural-looking wig to boost her confidence and comfort during chemo, with the cost of one wig being £1500!
- Essential living costs if treatment makes it difficult to continue working full-time.
If there’s one thing Imogen would want everyone to take away from this, it’s this: please check your boobs. Know your body. Early detection can truly save your life - and we’re holding onto hope that it’s saved hers.
Any donation, no matter the size, would mean so much. We understand that money is tight for everyone so maybe you could donate to this page instead of buying one coffee or one drink after work on Friday? We’ll be so grateful for anything we are able to get! Even sharing this page would be an incredible help.
Thank you for supporting Imogen through this difficult chapter. With your help, she can focus on healing, staying strong and continuing to do what she loves (with dogs by her side, of course).
