Fight and Triumph - Support Kelly's Fight Against Cancer

Kelly and her family are reaching out to ask for your support as Kelly battles a cancer known as non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma (Small Lymphocytic Lymphoma, or SLL). This campaign is to help alleviate the overwhelming financial burden that comes with her condition and current treatment, so she can focus on her healing.

In 2022, Kelly’s life changed when she was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma after noticing unusual swelling in her neck. For the past two years, Kelly has fought courageously, managing her condition through targeted treatments, diet, and exercise. Her determination and strength allowed her to maintain a sense of normalcy, even while quietly navigating the challenges of living with cancer.

Unfortunately, Kelly’s battle took a heartbreaking turn over the holidays. While going to sit, while holding with her son, she experienced a sudden crack in her spine leading her to fall to the floor and experiencing extreme amounts of pain. Unable to move, she was rushed to the hospital by ambulance. Doctors confirmed that the cancer had become aggressive, swollen lymph nodes near her hips which lead to her fall, and unfortunately now suffering from hair line cracks in her spine.

The swollen lymph nodes had grown so large that they blocked essential nutrients from reaching her spine, causing life-threatening complications. Kelly’s red blood cell count and hemoglobin levels dropped dangerously low, requiring two emergency blood transfusions to keep her alive. She has since been transferred to the BC Cancer Centre in Victoria, where she is preparing to undergo chemotherapy to suppress the cancer and relieve her pain.

Goal Amount

We are aiming to raise $10,000 to support Kelly during this challenging time. These funds will help cover medical expenses, travel costs, accommodations, living expenses and an absence from work, while Kelly undergoes treatment and temporarily relocates to Victoria.
