The Fight Against Paralysis and Blindness

My name is Dayna and I am 27 years old. About 2 months ago, I started losing vision in my right eye. I ended up being admitted into the hospital for a possible stroke. I underwent numerous tests for my heart, and other possible disorders that could be causing my eye sight to go out. A month later I started losing vision in my left eye. I am now part blind in both eyes. I more than likely will not regain the vision that has already been lost, but now I have a rising fear of becoming completely blind at a rapid rate. After hearing this from an eye specialist, I have been searching for answers for a cause and solution to my problem. Every test they have ran, has came back normal, despite having almost every symptom of a heart attack and stroke. The specialty eye institute then referred me to U of M Kellogg Eye Center for a second opinion. That appointment isn't until July 29th, 2025.

Other new symptoms started to come on very fast in the last 2 weeks, causing a lot more pain and even more fear. With new symptoms, I started a search to try to help relieve the pain and discomfort that I have been in. I was referred to see a chiropractor that specializes in spinal care. With that, I finally found some better answers to what may be causing my blindness and other issues going on.

After testing at the chiropractor. The doctor said he is 99% sure a fracture in my lower spine is what is causing all of my issues. The only time I recall injuring my back was about 4 to 5 years ago when I was working for a caregiving company in Howell Michigan. I had a client fall and when my supervisor came to help me lift the client back into bed my back made a loud snapping noise. I fell to the ground and I was down and out of work for weeks. The Doctor never detected the fracture. Physical therapy was not working, and I eventually had to start going back to work to be able to survive. I have been in constant pain since. Because the doctor did not identify the fracture, my spine did not heal properly, which then led to a range of other problems.

Due to the spine fracture never healing properly and resulting weight issues, my body is now misaligned in multiple areas. This misalignment is causing my brain stem to be pinched by the spine, which is leading to a lack of blood flow to my eyes and brain. It is also causing my body to collapse as it is finally giving up, which is why I am experiencing all these various issues suddenly at a rapid rate. The chiropractor stated, "I am a walking miracle" because he has never seen numbers this high and out of place without the person being paralyzed. The chiropractor believes he can fix these issues to restore my quality of life.

Unfortunately the initial 6 months of intensive treatment will cost me about $12,000 out-of-pocket. I was told it could take 2 to 3 years to correct these problems. After the first 6 months, I likely won't need as many sessions, which should reduce the overall cost, but there will still be significant out-of-pocket expenses that will accumulate over time. Unfortunately, I can't see just any chiropractor as there's a severe risk of paralysis if my body isn't adjusted correctly.

I left the chiropractor feeling defeated that not only will I go blind, but I could end up losing my ability in pretty much everything. Shortly after leaving, the chiropractor called me back to discuss a special payment arrangement and to do the first alignment. With me being so young and having many years ahead of me, he explained that he couldn't just let me walk out without a treatment plan. I greatly appreciate him for that.

With being on a single income, I fear I won't be able to manage to pay for the necessary treatment along with my other bills. Especially if my health declines and I am unable to work.

Due to these high costs and situations I am in, I am reaching out for help. Any donation or share could really help me afford the treatments I need but also help my struggle, stress, and emotional mindset being reduced significantly. I don't know where this journey is going to take me, but I am going to try my best to fight to be on the road of recovery so I don't lose everything I built for myself already. Your generosity can help me be less stressed with this financial burden for my health to be restored. Even if you are not in the position to donate, please keep me in your prayers because truly anything helps.

I shared some information on the finding of my condition and some of the photos of the x-rays, too, but I unfortunately couldn't add them all. I did put the diagram that was mapped out for how my body currently sits when standing. I didn't notice I stood that way until I saw that picture. It is not a wrong description at all as I now can see the difference in person when staring in the mirror. It all explains the years of pain I have dealt with and how worse it has gotten over time. I wish I could have known sooner what was happening and what it was going to cause, but at least I finally caught it and can fight to fix it before it is too late!

Part of the notes from the chiropractor down below:

Your x-rays showed:
* Reverse cervical curve with anterior head carriage
* Significant rotation of C2 to the right 9mm
* Osteophytes present in the thoracic spine
* Decreased space for nerves to exit from L4-S1
* Low left hip

Your PostureIQ™ assessment revealed the following:
* Your legs have shifted off center 14 mm to the left. This number should be 0mm.
* Your left hip is low.
* Your spine is falling to the left of the center.
* You are carrying 16 pounds more weight on your left leg.
* A balanced body carries less than 4 pounds of difference on each foot.
* Your left pelvis is rotated forward 33 mm.
* Your left shoulder is twisted forward 11mm.
* For body rotation, your collapse is considered extreme.
* Your right shoulder is low.
* Your neck is falling to the right of center.
* Your head is falling to the right of center.

This will not correct itself. The longer you stay out of proper alignment, the more progressive and degenerative wear and tear you are placing on every joint in your body. With the proper care, however, we can fix it over time. This should be addressed right way.

Your calculated nervous system is 67/100 or 67%. A healthy score is 80 or better.

Because of an uncorrected misalignment that happened in the past, you are in subluxation degeneration Phase 2. This means the original injury that caused your problem occurred approximately 30 years ago. Some people show signs of injury that seem older than they are or older than when injury occurred, suggesting the injury was severe enough to accelerate spinal degeneration. Problems that have been present this long take, on average, 2-3 years to fully correct.

That doesn't mean it will take that long for you to feel better, but that's how long it will take for your body to go through your phases of care listed in the Your Solution! (End of notes)

Please keep me in your prayers, and thank you for taking the time to read this. Even if you aren't able to donate, know that anything you can do to help me out, including sharing this, means the world to me. I know I'll forever be grateful and appreciative for everything as I fight to recover on this long road ahead. Thank you for joining me on my journey to recovery!
