Cure 4 Jen

Donation protected
Life drastically changed for Jen Liese five years ago when she was infected with toxic mold  poisoning. Little did she know, but the house she was living in was contaminated with mold and the Aspergillosis was slowly eating away at multiple body systems. She has suffered from extremely debilitating symptoms that have caused her to fight for her life each day. The mold has injured the lining of her respiratory airways, damaged her immune system and nervous system and has caused destruction of her reproductive system, as well as caused seizures. During rainy or humid periods, the mold expands and she has great difficulty breathing and loses the use of her legs and balance because of muscle spasticity. There are days when she cannot stand or walk. At times she has difficulty forming words and speaking. Jen also suffers from severe fatigue. Jen lives in a chronic state of immune deficiency as the mold has destroyed the capacity of her blood to fight infection. Anything that contains mold- mold food products as those in cheeses and beer or fungal exotoxins and gases that are in water, damaged areas can cause an acute relapse of the many symptoms Jen currently suffers from.

Besides the immense physical and emotional pain that Jen has gone through over the past 5 years, she has acquired astronomical medical debt. Because of the lack of medical knowledge about this diagnosis, Jen has seen countless specialists who cannot offer her an effective plan for recovery.  She relentlessly seeks out any doctor who is willing to take a chance to take on her complicated case. However, that costs money and Jen has lost her teaching and soccer coaching jobs because of this illness. Jen has not been able to get the help she desperately needs to get her life back. There are many financial barriers to maintain life, despite Medicaid and Food Stamps. Many of her medications and IV anti-fungal therapies are not covered by Medicaid. She is also NOT entitled to benefits that afford her access to specialized medical treatments, medical professionals and care. She lacks the access to transportation to medical care, as well as necessities that are not covered by Food Stamps.

Jen’s attempts and request to Social Security for Compassionate Allowance and Critical Case Status has been denied, therefore there is no extra financial aid coming her way. Not only is this medical condition taxing for Jen on all levels, but it also has taken an emotional and financial toll on family and friends trying to provide her with the necessities she needs to live each day.

A “Go Fund Me” page has been established to start the process of helping Jen. Additionally, we are planning an event to raise funds to assist Jen in her fight for life. More details about the event will be posted soon. In the meantime, Jen is relentlessly trying to raise awareness for this issue and bring doctors together to be able to better help others in the same situation. Toxic mold infection can easily go undetected. Many people have symptoms and do not even know that they are infected with mold. It can affect victims of flooding and damage from natural disasters and simple leaks in one’s residence, workplace or school. It is Jen’s primary goal to promote public awareness of this debilitating disease and how to detect and prevent it. It is her passionate desire to bring about a positive result from her personal medical affliction.

We appreciate your support, prayers, and positive vibes for Jen during this difficult time.
