Sweet Figaro has the curse of male cats....crystals blocking urine.  This happened very quickly  Figaro is my 6
year old beloved companion.  This is breaking my heart.  I got him from the County Animal Shelter in Bonita 6 years ago.  I planned on adopting an
older  female cat, but Figaro picked me!!!!!  He is an indoor cat only who must have  been feral since he is not fond of being picked up and will only lay next to me  on the sofa or on my lap on HIS terms. Fine by me. 

I recently retired, live modestly and have already spent $$$$$  at the emergency hospital this week, only to be told he has crystals blocking the urine.   Okay, now what?  They sent him home, telling me to "Watch him."  I was a "helicopter mother " checking his litter box every time he squatted in the litter box which was every 5 minutes!!  Still no pee and now he was laying in his litter box!!! Not a good sign. I called the emergency hospital back and was told they would return my call. I got a call back two days later but by now I had taken Figaro to his regular vet, who wasn't open at the time I noticed this problem.   

Their suggestion is making him a transgender kitty - from a male to a female.  This procedure will shorten the urethra.  I have no choice.  I love this kitty. He never signed on to be in this much pain.  I owe him a wonderful life, but this is getting expensive and heart breaking!!!! 

I am humbly asking for help with the cost to make this right for Figaro so he can get back to his sweet life.
