Hi, Dax is a loving and very playful and peculiar cat. I adopted him when he was 4 months old along with his sister Kristen right after my family dog passed away to fill the space she left behind. The story of how I got them was extremely unexpected and unplanned. I remember going into the shelter after looking at dogs and decided to play with the cats and kittens. Intention was to adopt a dog or maybe even an adult cat but when I walked into the kitten room I saw Dax sitting there just not a care in the world. I decided right then and there when I pet him and had him purring that I was going to take him home. I signed up for not one, but two cats as Kristen and Dax were bonded and at the time I wasn’t even prepared. No cat carrier no cat bed no nothing. I rushed to pet smart to get everything I needed and when I came rushing back to get Dax and Kristen, they both jumped into the carrier. If felt meant to be, there were at least 15 kittens running around and there they were, jumping right into the carrier like they knew they were going home. From there, they were my children and I was their mom.

Little did I know Dax would be one of the second biggest heartache I would have after my dog passing. A month ago Dax (Now 2 years old and of course still very much a baby) was diagnosed with FIC.. it’s hard seeing him suffer but I am willing to do anything for him. My boy went from happy and always wanting to play to always in pain, lethargic and always keeping to himself.

So here I am, in need of funding Dax. He is always in need of some kind of medical assistance while we try and navigate through this condition. I work as a waitress for a small restaurant and have bills to pay so I have been struggling with Dax’s medical funds and the trial and error of medications and supplements used . Any funds are greatly appreciated, 100% of it is going to Dax! And anyone struggling with a cat with some kind of medical condition, I wish you guys all love and support. I know it is mentally, physically and financially a struggle but their love makes it all worth it ..

UPDATE : as of Aug 20th Dax has gotten a procedure called retrograde urohydropropulsion done. Our original vet did not do a thorough job at examinations (did not complete an X-ray ) and with a second opinion we found bladder stones. Possibly not FIC .) we are monitoring him to see if the bladder stones get smaller with medicated food after his procedure but if it doesn’t get smaller he will have to go in to get his bladder cut open to take out all the stones . We’ve also found a mass in his ureters which the doctor is unsure of what it is and still in the process of figuring it out . 

UPDATE : Dax will be having surgery to remove his stones as he reblocked the next day after his RU surgery
