Fiamma Performing Arts- The Sound of Music

I am the founder and artistic director of Fiamma Performing Arts company. Additionally, I am a free lance professional singer and voice teacher. Fiamma is a company that focuses on providing all kids aged 12-18 an opportunity to perform, learn and grow in their artistic pursuits. My young company has been contracted this summer to put on a production of The Sound of Music for Kettle Moraine School District Summer Academy. We will cast area kids in grades 6-9. This will be a full-scale production with live orchestra and professional artistic leadership.
Why am I raising money, you ask....
The short answer is that we need a reasonable operations budget to put on a great show!
The long answer is that I believe wholeheartedly that the arts are the key to a more civilized and high functioning society. Offering artistic outlets to our youth provides them with a training ground for collaboration, communication, and compassion. Arts programs are all in trouble. Our district has made cuts to arts programs and will have to make more cuts if the next referendum fails. I want to see our community and our children thrive. The arts should be an offering for all youth. Each of us has an artistic flame that needs to burn, be fed and tended to.
Middle school music and theatre opportunities were the source of my survival as a young teen. I was inspired, I felt valued, I was challenged. I became an integral part of a community. I learned to work, to think, to feel, to express, to connect. I want to be able to give back to my community and offer the youth in my community the same passionate arts experience I was graciously given by my mentors.
