Fi and Liv's Across Wales Walk

RAWW story

 

Thank you for taking the time to visit our GoFundMe page. In January 2022, our best friend Lili was diagnosed with ovarian cancer, for which she is currently undergoing chemotherapy treatment. In her honour, we will be walking 77km across Wales to raise essential funds for 2 exceptional charities, Target Ovarian Cancer and Bronglais Chemo Appeal, who provide key support to those fighting the disease.

 

The Challenge

 

On June 18th, we will be taking on the challenge of the Rotary Across Wales Walk. Setting off at 2am, we will begin our journey from Machynlleth, wandering up and over the Welsh hills to reach our final destination of Montgomery 77km later.

 

The Charities

 

We have chosen to split donations between 2 charities close to Lili’s heart as our way of saying thank you for the support she’s received throughout her treatment.

 

Bronglais Chemo Appeal

 

One in every two people in Wales will be diagnosed with cancer at some point in their lifetime. Bronglais Hospital provides vital anti-cancer treatment to over 60 people from across Ceredigion, South Gwynedd and North Powys weekly, including Lili. Right now, they’re on a mission to raise an essential £500k to transform their chemo unit into a fit-for-purpose facility to help deliver the best care to patients.

 

Target Ovarian Cancer

 

Each year around 7.5k women in the UK are diagnosed with ovarian cancer. As the UK’s leading ovarian cancer charity, Target Ovarian Cancer is at the forefront of improving the early diagnosis, support and treatment for everyone impacted by the disease. The money they raise helps fund life-saving research and support for people like Lili.
