I'm Dr. Ahmed Zaqout, the householder of a family from Gaza City, Al Rimal Neighborhood, I am launching this campaign, along with my son Feras and daughter Nour. We’re reaching out to all with hope in our hearts asking for urgent support for the medical treatment of: My wife Rola, who recently has been diagnosed with cancer “Diffuse Large B Cell Lymphoma" Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma stage 4.
My wife is a teacher who spent more than 20 years of her life serving, teaching and raising Palestinian students in Gaza schools. She is a beloved mother and a loyal wife in raising our four children with good morals and education.
During the ongoing atrocious war on Gaza, my wife was very sick and we couldn’t seek medical assistance to make a clear diagnosis of her illness.
With the daily worsening of her symptoms and the deterioration of her medical condition, we sought all possibilities and coordinations to be evacuated from the Gaza Strip, in order to establish the diagnosis and the proper management. This coordination came at our expense and has already exhausted all our savings.
Upon the arrival to Egypt, we consulted with medical doctors and performed a lot of investigations till receiving the devastating diagnosis: "Diffuse Large B Cell Lymphoma (Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma) stage 4. Which is an extremely serious and life-threatening disease. (pathology report is attached)
Due to the disease staging of my wife’s case, referral to delay of diagnosis and the disease's nature; the oncologist initiated chemotherapy treatment promptly and urgently.
Please, need your prayers
Let’s Unite in the Fight against Cancer
Based on her condition and the disease stage, the treating oncologist recommended that she needs to be treated continuously at a high standard medical hospital with high facilities and nursing care with periodic medical follow up and admissions to overcome any encountered relapsing or complications.
In such cases there is a high possibility of the need to adjust the treatment plan; considering other treatment options of chemotherapy in the setting of autologous hematopoietic stem cell transplantation which is highly expensive.
(Medical Report)
Due to the war, including the tens of bombardment on our home; Al-Rimal neighborhood, alongside the expenses incurred for evacuation and the unforeseen expenses of temporary resettlement, we have been thrust into a financial crisis. I am writing to you seeking your support for my wife’s medical care as needed and recommended, specifically because we were not able to receive a referral or insurance for her treatment at the needed hospital, considering her depleted immunity.
Gaza City, Al Rimal Neighborhood where’s our home
Our current situation has unfortunately placed a significant financial burden on us while dealing with dispositions, major life changes and immense commitments. Our savings have been depleted, thus her access to get proper medical care is jeopardized, affecting her life.
We would be grateful for any contribution you can provide us, and please share this story with others who may help too.
