Help Andrea recover by supporting her childcare!
On 28 March 2021, our dear friend Andrea Morgan was struck by a drunk driver while cycling near her home. Andrea sustained a traumatic brain injury. She was rushed to hospital with serious injuries, including a broken fibula and teeth. She spent three weeks in a rehabilitation hospital to regain her speech, balance, and other critical cognitive and physical functions.
Andrea has been home since mid-April and continues to make excellent progress. Her medical team expects her to make a full recovery, and she is surpassing their initial expectations. However, her full recovery will take at least one year, and she has had to take a major step back from her work and other responsibilities. Her ability to work on the farm is limited, and she needs support with childcare, transportation, and daily life. As the new owner of a farm business, the accident presents a significant challenge to her finances.
A deeply meaningful and concrete way to show support for Andrea as she gets back on her feet is by contributing to childcare costs, transportation costs, and her physical healing. Receiving help with covering the cost of childcare for Andrea and Wil's vivacious 4-year-old daughter, Della, will give Andrea greater time and space to fully recover. Given that her eyesight is recovering and she cannot currently drive, this fundraiser will also go toward transportation costs as Andrea's home is in rural Utah. As well, the road to Andrea's full recovery is long and winding and these funds will also go toward healing Andrea's physical and mental health. Andrea has always supported friends and loved ones near and far, and we know many people would like to return the support in her time of need.
