Hello wonderful friends and family, as you all know, I lost my stepfather Geoffrey Michael Goodman, the love of my mother's life, on the morning of October 4th. He passed due to an absolutely devastating freak accident involving his boat and electrical power lines. Our hearts are broken, but we are remaining as strong as possible because that's how Geoff would want it. If you were lucky enough to know him, you know he was a strong and extremely calm and rational person, bring hope, light, and joy to everyone's life. He was an extremely gifted artist, who made art out of driftwood and seaglass he and my mother collected together. My mother and Geoff, having owned Bliss Jewelry & Gifts together, always went above and beyond for the community, donating countless dollars and gifts to different people and organizations and fundraisers. Even when they were struggling financially, they would find ways to give back. We would never dream of asking for money, but I know it will be a struggle for my mom and I to do it on our own. Every penny we raise in Geoff's honor will go to the memorial, the cremation, and other expenses my mother is faced with. Also, mommy has decided that a great way to deal with the grief and to celebrate the life of her artist husband, she would like to open a seaglass retreat at her home on Hoopers Island. it would be a place where children, families, widows, artists, anyone could come and learn how to make art with seaglass and drift wood, and comb the beach of Hoppers Island for treasures. Proceeds would go to artists and different charities once we get that project up and running. She has huge plans, though still devastated, she knows she must carry on the way he would: inspiring, giving, loving, and smiling. We are BEYOND grateful for the support, love, prayers, donations, and know that Geoff is smiling down from heaven. #AprilStrong
